I AM MORE Kick-Off

11:30AM

Saturday, September 30 at Lincoln Square in Clinton beginning at 11:30 a.m. Teens, parents and the community are invited to attend. Both events will have light refreshments and raffle prizes. The following members of the Coalition For Bright Futures will speak at the event in Clinton on September 30th, Divah Griffin, Program Coordinator, Lars Dunn, President, Coalition For Bright Futures and Assistant States Attorney Dewitt County, and Parent Representative, Tina Baxter.

I AM MORE is an underage drinking prevention campaign aimed at DeWitt County which focuses on preventing and educating students, parents and community members of the dangers of underage drinking. This campaign is a result of the Strategic Prevention Framework grant. I AM MORE will empower teens to recognize their intrinsic value, identify peer pressure, and make decisions that allow them to follow their passion in life. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, underage drinking is a serious public health issue and is the most widely used substance of abuse among America’s youth. Additionally, the campaign will be modified to reach parents (YOU ARE MORE) and the community (WE ARE MORE), to help them understand their role in underage drinking prevention and encourage them to work together to end alcohol abuse and help the next generation succeed.
