Start of Early Voting Delayed

The official start date of Early Voting & Vote by Mail for the March 15th primary election will be delayed at least to mid-February according to the Illinois State Board of Election.
Challenges to several Presidential candidates have delayed the ballot from being certified to County Clerks in all Counties.
Dewitt County Clerk Dana Smith indicates the pending objections to the candidacy of several Presidential candidates in Illinois will delay the start of early voting and vote by mail in DeWitt County
Smith says as soon as the State Board of Elections certifies the final ballot to us they will work as quickly as possible to print, test, and finalize ballots to begin early voting.
Smith says there is still time to get an application in for early voting. She suspects that the ballots will be ready for voting by February 17, which also serves as the first day of grace period registration.
