DeWitt County Sheriff Arrests 3 Men in Connection To Rural Burglaries

The DeWitt County Sheriff announced the arrest of 3 men on Wednesday in connection with 2 rural burglaries. According to Sheriff Jered Shofner, this was an instance where two separate investigations concluded on the same day.

Joseph Debauche, 35, of Wapella was arrested and charged with a residential burglary that was reported on June 30, 2011 near the 8000 block on Township Road, rural Wapella. Debauche is accused of taking over $5,000 worth of items from a home while the owner was away on vacation.

Skyler Hallowell, 18, of Chicago and Salar (NMI) Dean, 19, also of Chicago, were both arrested on July 6th and charged with a burglary that was reported at 4:50 A.M. in Kenney, IL. A resident of an apartment in the 100 block of Johnson Street was awaken when two men forced their way inside. When confronted, the men fled on foot.

Deputies responded and developed information that the offenders had fled to a home at 313 E. Benjamin Street in Kenney. Deputies executed a search warrant there at 8:45 A.M. and subsequently arrested Hallowell and Dean.
