Mich. Senate Approves Cap on Welfare

Michigan may soon have one of the strictest welfare laws in the Midwest.  The state Senate passed legislation yesterday that puts a lifetime cap on recipients of 48 months.  If the measure is signed into law, it would immediately impact more than 12-thousand families statewide.  Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri all have five-year limits.  Governor Rick Snyder is expected to sign the legislation into law.
