Wapella Community Park Vandalized For 3rd Time Since March

The Village of Wapella has seen vandalism hit one of their public parks over the past several months and the vandals just recently struck again.

 width=Wapella community park has been hit vandalized three times since March. Damage in the attacks includes spray painting, broken lights and glass and damage to light poles. The most recent attack came July 23 when 3 metal light poles were deliberately pushed over. The poles cost up to $1-thousand dollars a piece. DeWitt County Sheriff Jered Shofner says these vandals are attacking the community and they need to be held accountable.

Sheriff Shofner encourages anyone with any information to get a hold of local authorities. He says any information is always valuable. He say it doesn't have to be anything big, he says many times small leads can make the biggest difference.
