Clinton YMCA's Strong Kids Campaign Making Good Progress

An annual effort aimed at allowing greater access to the Clinton Community YMCA is making good progress.

The Clinton Y conducts their "Strong Kids" Campaign every spring in an attempt to raise thousands of dollars to support local families that may otherwise not have access to programming.  Executive Director Jann Martin explains the fund drive goes toward financial aid opportunities.  She says the Y is hoping to raise around $90-thousand this year and they are already at $73-thousand.

Martin notes the Y has seen a dramatic increase in families needing some help, and feels the campaign has a far reaching effect throughout the community. She adds a lot of times agencies will shut down when they do not receive the funding they need, she says the Y does not shut down, which is why they play such a large role in the community.
