Clinton's Committee For Sustainable Living Kicking Off Year With Party Saturday

A community event aimed at community members to reconnect is scheduled for this weekend.

The "Sustain to Remain" block party Saturday is a kick off project for Clinton's Committee for Sustainable Living. The committee has coordinated with local agencies including Clinton Public Works and the Clinton Fire Department to organize several different activities. Kathy Rodgers, part of the committee explains the committee a conservation project for the community.

The goal of the event is to bring together neighbors and enjoy the benefits of living in a small town. Rodgers believes an event like this can revitalize a community and bring people together.

The event is set to run from 2-10pm this Saturday near the Washington School neighborhood. Organizer will be blocking off Macon Street from Elm to Grant Streets for the event from 10am - 10pm. The activities will take place between Elm and Mulberry Streets. Back Porch Barbecue will be serving throughout the afternoon.
