A high school sophomore allegedly beaten by a homeowner after being caught inside a Peoria house has died.
Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says 16-year-old Jaquille Tidwell Johns was pronounced dead at 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
The teen's family had removed life support in the hopes that he could become an organ donor.
Authorities say Johns and a friend were inside the vacant house on Nov. 11 when the man who owns it saw movement inside and confronted them.
That man, 61-year-old Willie Mason, is charged with obstructing justice and is being held on $100,000 bond. More charges are possible.
Johns was a student at Manual High School.
