DeWitt County Seniors will have an opportunity to take a couple short vacations in 2012 with the DeWitt County Friendship Center.

Executive Director at the Friendship Center Sissy Leggett explains each year they try to arrange a couple short trips for seniors to take to just get away for a short time. This year she says, they have a couple of trips planned. One is for Nashville Tennessee.

Leggett notes space is limited for the trip to Nashville, she says they are about halfway to the 50 maximum they can take on that trip, so she encourages anyone interested to get information or get signed up.

Another smaller trip they have planned for this year is a short trip to Chicago. Leggett says there are several activities bunched into the three days for the seniors to do. She feels a shorter trip was a nice addition this year for those that could not go on the longer trip.

Leggett encourages anyone with questions to contact the Friendship Center at 935-9411. She says money on the trip to Nashville in October has not been collected yet, as they are waiting to get feedback from residents, but she says spots are filling up quickly.
