Farmer City To Celebrate 175th Anniversary Summer

If you're a resident of the community of Farmer City, this year is a monumental year for the town.

Farmer City will be celebrating their 175th anniversary this summer. Elizabeth Folks is the Chair of the Farmer City 175th celebration. She explains they began planning last year for the celebration by setting some goals and also finding out things those of you in the community wanted in the celebration. She says the celebration will kick off with a parade, and thanks to community support, each year their Christmas parades are a huge success, and they hope for the same sort of support for this one.

Like most parades, the Farmer City 175th will have a Grand Marshall that will ride at the front of the parade. Folks says they are currently seeking nominations for Grand Marshall. She hopes for the nominees to be good representatives of the community.

Farmer City's parades have done very well for many years and Folks says they are looking for your help to continue the tradition of keeping their parades being some of the bigger parades in the area.
