Wesleyan Coach Battling Cancer

(Bloomington, IL)  --  Illinois Wesleyan's Pink Zone basketball games are tomorrow and this year it takes on a whole new meaning for women's coach Mia Smith.  Smith was diagnosed with breast cancer in June last year.  She's undergone four chemotherapy sessions and while she says her recovery has gone well, it has impacted her coaching and teaching regiment this season.  She says she has been able to cut back on classes and has had great support from the athletic department and university.  The Pink Zone game includes a sold out breast cancer fundraiser dinner provided by Famous Dave's, along with a silent auction, raffle and pink zone T-shirt sale.  The Illinois Wesleyan teams will square off against North Park tomorrow.  The women will play at 5 p.m.  The men's game begins at 7 p.m.
