Victims Identified In Fatal Fire At Peoria Home

Authorities have identified a man and 2 of his children who died in a central Illinois house fire.

The Peoria County coroner says the victims were 34-year-old Edward Gordon, 5-year-old Eandre Gordon and 4-year-old Emyrra Gordon. They were pronounced dead Saturday morning in the emergency room of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says all died of carbon monoxide intoxication due to inhaling smoke and soot from the fire.

Peoria Fire Chief Kent Tomblin says home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived early Saturday morning.

All three victims were found upstairs.

Tomblin says there was one smoke detector in the house and it didn't have a battery in it.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
