Three state lawmakers are pushing to legalize same-sex marriage in Illinois, but Governor Quinn won't say if he'll support the proposal.

Representative Kelly Cassidy says the attitudes of society have changed toward gay and lesbian couples and it's time for governmental bodies to follow suit.  She introduced the proposal last week along with Representatives Greg Harris and Deb Mell.  They say they've gotten quite a bit of support since introducing the bill, despite opponents' claims that gay marriage will hurt society.
