CHS Class Of 73 Kickoff Fundraiser Successful

The Clinton High School Class of 1973 held their kick off fundraiser for 2012.

The Class of '73 is raising money for their work on the Peace Park project which is on West Main Street in Clinton.  The group is working to restore the Roque Court there that was once a hot spot to the Clinton community. Cris Rogers, with the Class of '73, says the fundraiser was a huge success.  He feels if they continue to get community support like this all year, then they will be in good shape to meet the needs of the project.

Rogers says the money will be used to continue the Roque Court project. He says they are looking for some nice benches, much like what is on Mr. Lincoln Square. They are also still in need of a flagpole, and are looking to get the landscaping going this spring.

Rogers says things are really coming together. He says while at first it was tough to get some of the community behind them, he feels they now have a great amount of support which has really propelled the project forward.

The Class of 73 thanks Scott Williamson and the Shack Restaurant for allowing them to use their facilities. They also thank the many residents that stopped in to support their endeavor.
