ISU Considers Illinois Rates For Out-Of-State Students

Illinois State University is considering changing a longstanding policy and offering in-state tuition rates to some out-of-state students.

Illinois State trustees are scheduled to consider changes Friday that would allow in-state rates for students from outside Illinois who have very high grades or talent in art, music, sports or other areas.

Illinois State has long favored in-state students as part of its mission as a public university.

Some ISU administrators think the change would make the school in Normal more competitive and draw more students.
