Meet Candidates - Night One

Monday evening was the first of two nights for residents of DeWitt County to convene at the Warner Library to meet those candidates running for County Positions.

It was a slim group to speak Monday as candidates running for County Board Seats in Districts A and B and also Circuit Clerk candidates were on hand as well.

 width=Challenger for Circuit Clerk Pam Barnes was first to speak those in attendance. She relates 13 years of work as a probation officer which had her frequenting the court house, which she explains would be similar to what the Circuit Clerk does.

Incumbent Lori Berger was also allowed to speak. Berger is a lifelong resident of DeWitt County and is actively involved in many organizations and activities throughout the community.

Only Terry Ferguson was on hand to speak from Districts A & B. Ferguson explains he is currently the head of the Land Use Committee and also serves on the Finance Committee.

County Board candidates not on hand from District A include Republicans Dan Ballenger, Cole Ritter, incumbent Sherri Brown, and Larry Schumm. Also Democrat incumbent Camille Redman.

County Board candidates in District B not on hand Monday were Republicans Ed Young and Laura Enger, both incumbents, and Mark Gardner. All three are from Farmer City. Democrat incumbent Dana Evans of Farmer City was also absent Monday evening.
