Wildcats, Jayhawks Meet For National Title

The Kentucky Wildcats and Kansas Jayhawks meet at the Superdome in New Orleans tonight for the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship.  As the top-overall seed in the tournament, Kentucky got past its rival Louisville, 69-61, on Saturday night to advance.  Prior to that, the Wildcats defeated Western Kentucky, Iowa State, Indiana and Baylor during their run to the Final Four.  Head coach John Calipari will be seeking his first national championship while attempting to lead Kentucky to its eighth title.  The Wildcats last won it all in 1998 under Tubby Smith.

Kansas used a late second-half run to put away Ohio State, 64-62, on Saturday night in the national semifinal.  The Jayhawks' tournament run included wins over Detroit, Purdue, North Carolina State and North Carolina as well.  KU head coach Bill Self will be looking to capture his second national championship after taking the Jayhawks to the 2008 crown.  With a win, Kansas will notch its fourth title in school history.
