Feds Indict Representative Derrick Smith For Bribery

State Representative Derrick Smith has been officially indicted on bribery charges.  A grand jury returned the indictment today alleging Smith accepted seven-thousand dollars from a confidential informant last month.  Smith has declared his innocence but is being pressured by the state Democratic party to resign so they can pick a replacement.  Chicago's 28th Ward Alderman Jason Ervin is the latest to call for Smith to make a move.  He says the lawmaker either needs to resign or return to work.  Smith has not been at work since his March 13th arrest.  Ervin says it's unacceptable for him to continue to draw a paycheck when he isn't doing any work to show for it.
