One state representative says he doesn't understand how Governor Quinn supports online lottery sales but refuses to allow slots at racetracks. Representative Lou Lang says the concept doesn't make much sense.

Lang is behind the push to increase gaming in the state. Quinn threatens to veto any bill that has too much gaming, claiming he doesn't want Illinois to become the Las Vegas of the Midwest. Lang says slots at racetracks would benefit the state's agribusiness industry, which is in danger of taking a hard hit unless a compromise is reached. Lang says so far there hasn't been much progress.
