Clinton City Council Looks To Approve DJWH Budget Tonight

As the City of Clinton prepares their Fiscal Year 13 budget, the Dr. John Warner Hospital will seek to have areas in the city owned hospital to be more profitable in the coming year.

Because the hospital is owned by the city, the Clinton City Council has to approve their proposed budget. Clinton Mayor Carolyn Peters explains this year the hospital's proposed budget has a revenue over expenses is $12,189. Mayor Peters explains one area that is doing very well the DJWH is hopeful can bring in more revenue will be the physical therapy department.

The new home sleep study program and the swing bed programs are two areas the hospital is aiming to gain some more revenues from as well. Mayor Peters says other areas the hospital has targeted for more revenues will be the MRI imaging department.

Mayor Peters says the hospital's projections for revenue generated from the hospital will be close to $390-thousand.

A special budget hearing will be 15 minutes prior tonight's 7 pm Clinton City Council, at which the Council will approve the Dr. John Warner Hospital's FY13 budget and also approve the city's budget.
