The Monticello Sages picked up a solid Okaw Valley Conference win Wednesday afternoon over the Shelbyville Rams, 6-3 at Monticello. Jacob Williams went 7 innings on the mound, giving up 3 run on two hits with 17 strikeouts. After giving up a 2-run home run in the top of the 3rd inning, Williams answered with a 2 run home run of his own to tie it in the bottom of the 3rd. Ross Reeder was 2-3 with an RBI, and freshman Ryne Bundy added a solo home run in the fourth. Matt Wells was 0-2 with an RBI.

The Sages improve to 12-4 overall and 2-1 in Okaw play.

The Sages are at Tuscola Friday afternoon.
