Investigation into the scene of an accident which occurred at approximately 10:03 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, revealed that a vehicle driven by Michael Gustafson, 41, Lacon, was traveling south on US Highway 51 at the intersection of Burns Hill Road. Brian Mileham, 37, Lawndale, was also traveling south on US Highway 51 near the same intersection in the passing lane, approaching traffic light. Gustafson was stopped at the traffic light and steered left into the passing lane to make a left hand turn when his vehicle struck the passenger side rear end of Mileham’s vehicle. Both vehicles sustained major damage and had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. Gustafson was issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage. He posted his IL Drivers License as bond and was released. Mileham was issued a citation for Operating Uninsured Vehicle. He was issued a notice to appear and was released.

Michelle Thrasher, 21, Clinton, was issued citations for Operating Uninsured Vehicle and Failure To Reduce Speed. Thrasher posted her IL Drivers License as bond and was released.

Janice McCumsey, 61, Farmer City, was issued a citation for Speeding (74 mph in a 55 mph zone). McCumsey posted her IL Drivers License as bond and was released.

Roy Kavuri, 28, Decatur, was issued a citation for Speeding (73 mph in a 55 mph zone). Kavuri posted his IL Drivers License as bond and was released.
