Drivers Force Gas Prices Down

Drivers in New Lenox force gas stations to lower their prices.  They forged a boycott after Mayor Tim Baldermann called on them to take action.  He asked residents not to purchase gas in their hometown because it was rising out of control.  Plus, drivers could get it cheaper just down the road in Mokena and Frankfort.  Balderman says he had no idea the people would be so supportive so soon but within 48 hours gas prices had dropped by more than a dime.  The local BP dropped prices from four-17 to four dollars and six cents a gallon.  Other gas stations followed suit.  The boycott proves that people are still the driving force in the economy.  And, if prices rise too high again, Baldermann urges residents to boycott again.
