Accused Killer To Hire Experts

One of two brothers charged in the Beason slayings will be allowed to hire expert consultants and a private investigator to aid his defense.  Chris Harris appeared in Logan County court yesterday for a case management conference hearing, along with his new attorneys.  A judge granted Harris' request for the expert help.  Harris' defense team must provide prosecutors with copies of all reports prepared by his experts, as well as any other discovery evidence they have, by September 4th.  Chris Harris and his brother, Jason Harris, are accused of using a tire iron to kill Ruth and Rick Gee and three of the couple's children in Beason in 2009. They're also charged with attempted murder for an attack on the Gees' then-three-year-old daughter, who survived.  Both brothers are due back in court for a hearing on July 13th.
