Tornadoes Touch Down In Illinois

The National Weather Service says several tornadoes touched down in Illinois yesterday.  One was in Tilton, where it picked up a large metal garage port and tossed it about 70 yards.  No estimate of the damage was immediately available, but Vermilion County Emergency Management Agency Director Ted Fisher says there might also be hail damage to some vehicles.  Another twister was spotted in Piatt County.  The County's Emergency Management Agency reports a tornado was on the ground for seven minutes, hitting farms fields Monticello and Savoy, and on the west side of Sydney.  Officials say the storms developed quickly yesterday, even before a tornado or severe thunderstorm watch could be issued for the area.
