Kenney Receives Gift To Beautify City

The Village of Kenney recently received a generous donation aimed to beautify the town.

A recent donation of 50 flowering trees will provide Kenney with a much more colorful spring in 2013. Most trees were iether flowering cherry or flowering pear which will be festooned with pink or white blossoms next spring. The trees will not produce actual fruit.

Trees were about six feet tall and were supplied in three-and-a-half gallon pots. The trees had already bloomed at the nursery this year but were ready for immediate planting.

The trees were purchased from Lowe's Home Improvement Center in Decatur.

The trees were donated by John. F. Regan, a retired lawyer who lives in Decatur. Regan has donated other plants to Kenney in the past, including mums and rose bushes. They can be seen at private homes and public spaces throughout town.

Kenney is six miles west of Clinton.
