Cubs, Cards Win; Sox Fall

>>Cubs Dump Dodgers On Walk-Off Walk

(Chicago, IL)  --  David DeJesus drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Cubs a 4-3 win over the Dodgers.  Tony Campana clubbed a game-tying RBI double in the bottom of the ninth for the Cubs, who took two-of-three from the Dodgers at the Friendly Confines.  Rafael Dolis worked two scoreless innings to register the win.  Juan Rivera smacked a two-run homer for Los Angeles, which was without Matt Kemp due to left hamstring tightness.  Jamey Wright was saddled with the loss.

(Houston, TX)  --  Tyler Greene clubbed two home runs and plated four runs to back seven stellar innings from Adam Wainwright as the Cardinals crushed the Astros, 8-1.  Wainwright struck out seven and allowed just one run on seven hits to improve to 2-and-3 on the season.  Allen Craig added a two-run dinger for St. Louis, which snapped a three-game slide.  The Cards kick off a three-game series in Arizona against Diamondbacks this evening.  Lance Lynn will toe the rubber opposite Joe Saunders in the opener.

(Detroit, MI)  --  Prince Fielder, Austin Jackson and Andy Dirks each smacked solo shots as the Tigers downed the White Sox, 3-1.  All three players finished with two hits, while starter Rick Porcello allowed just one run on four hits with five strikeouts over six-and-a-third innings of work to register the win.  Jose Valverde worked around a leadoff single in the ninth to record his fifth save of the season as the Tigers took two of three from Chicago at Comerica Park.  Adam Dunn's home run in the first frame accounted for Chicago's lone run in defeat.  Dylan Axelrod surrendered two runs on six hits over four-and-a-third innings to take the loss, Chicago's fourth in five tries.
