Clinton Board of Education Approves Bids For Summer Work

The Clinton Board of Education approved bids last night for their summer maintenance projects as well as bids for the renovations of the high school's commons area.

Superintendent of the Clinton School District, Dr. Jeff Holmes explains the Board of Education received four bids for the renovation to the commons area at the high school, and they approved the low base bid. The bid is going to include restrooms, the library, and painting in the gym.

The Board of Education also received four alternate bids. The first is an addition to the high school auditorium, which the Board plans to build an area off the stage for storage. Dr. Holmes explains the second alternative bid involves the new roof the high school gym will be getting.

The Board of Education also approved a bid for driers in the restrooms and a  bid for air conditioning in the gym for over $275-thousand.

The Board of Education discussed the old junior high school property at 401 North Center Street. A decision could be acted on at their next regular monthly meeting.
