Women and young people who want to sharpen their shotgun skills may participate in a "wingshooting" clinic May 19-20 at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta.
The clinic will provide instruction on safely and properly shooting a shotgun. It is designed to teach the fundamentals of hitting a moving target - the principle behind wingshooting.
Women of any age and boys aged 10 to 15 are welcome. The sessions are from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and are free.
Registration is necessary by May 16.
Sponsors are the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Friends of the World Shooting and Recreational Complex and the Turkey Bluffs Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
