Farmers continued working to get all the corn in the ground this past week as we hear in this week's crop report.
Corn planting is nearing completion around the state. Chief State Crop Statistician Brad Schwab reports corn planting across the state is at 95% planted with an average height of corn at five inches.

As for soybeans, 44% are planted. Schwab says almost of 15% of soybeans have emerged.

Sorghum planting advanced to 42% complete. The first cutting of alfalfa has advanced to 42% complete.
Top soil moistures were rated at 2% very short, 10% short, 75% adequate, and 13% surplus.
