Prosecutor Recommends No Charges For Illinois Warden

A special prosecutor investigating the acting warden of a prison in central Illinois has recommended that no charges be filed.

A Department of Corrections spokeswoman says Randy Pfister, who oversees the Pontiac Correctional Center, will remain on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal department review.

The spokeswoman, Stacey Solano, called that a standard procedure.

State police arrested Pfister May 10 on suspicion of unlawful restraint, but authorities have not made public any specific allegations.

Pfister was released the next day without formal charges, and the case was referred to a special prosecutor.

Pfister, who is 49, has been acting warden since May 2011.
