Cards Swept In LA

Scott Van Slyke made his first career home run a memorable one as the Dodgers snuck past the Cardinals, 6-5.  Van Slyke hit a three-run jack on a 3-0 pitch while pinch-hitting in the seventh to give Los Angeles a lead it would not relinquish.  James Loney and Andre Ethier each drove in a run as the Dodgers swept the three-game series and won their fourth overall.  Javy Guerra picked up the win in relief, while Kenley Jansen earned his fifth save.  Skip Schumaker hit a two-run triple and Rafael Furcal drove in a pair with a single for St. Louis, which has lost four straight and eight of its last 10 games.  Marc Rzepczynski [[ zep-CHIN-skee ]] suffered the loss for the Cards.
