Clinton Police Department Has New Deputy Chief

A newly created position in the Clinton Police Department has established and an appointment has been made.

 width=Monday evening at the Clinton City Council meeting Sergeant Ben Lowers was promoted to the position of Deputy Chief, who will be second in command to Clinton Police Chief Mike Reidy. Chief Reidy explains the promotion of now Deputy Chief Lowers will allow him to consult with a non-union member of his staff, but it will also give the department a more clear chain of command.

With his wife and daughter on hand and colleagues on hand, Sergaent Lowers was sworn in as the new Deputy Chief of the Clinton Police Department.

Deputy Chief Lowers explains he has always had a goal of holding an administrative role within a police force. He feels his training and experience has prepared him for his new role.

Deputy Chief Lowers says police work can sometimes be a tough career. He says it not only is a job or a career, but it becomes a lifestyle. He feels the Clinton Police Department has a great group of officers and looks forward to being their new Deputy Chief.
