United Way's DeWitt County Fund Raising Drive Complete

The United Way of Decatur and Mid-Illinois has wrapped up their yearly fund drive for DeWitt County.

The United Way was able to reach its goal for its yearly campaign in DeWitt County of $45,000. Of the total money raised, $36,000 was undesignated and was distributed amongst agencies in DeWitt County. Director of Community Impact with the United Way, Chad Clevenger explains all that money raised will stay within DeWitt County.

Clevenger notes all the money that was raised in DeWitt County stayed in the county unless the donor says something different. He explains there are many examples of people donating from outside the area into DeWitt County

Once the money has been collected, it then must be distributed. Agencies endorsed by the United Way must fill out a grant application. According to Clevenger, community volunteers are brought in to decide how to distribute those funds.
