Ambulance Advisory Committee Making Great Strides In Early Work

As the Ambulance Advisory Committee continues it's research and work to finding the best solution for ambulance service in DeWitt County, there have been several surprises along the way.

The Ambulance Advisory Committee has already met twice in just over a month into their formation. DeWitt County Board Chair Melonie Tilley is pleased with the group's progress as they have been and will continue to investigating other area ambulance services.

The DeWitt County Board had to make a minor change to the Committee. Tilley explains the person she had appointed from the Wapella Fire District, Callan Cain was unable to serve and so Willis Strange has been appointed to replace him.

Tilley had asked the Committee to have a request for proposal ready by mid-June. Tilley notes at the time of asking to have the deadline met, that goal seemed like it could be accomplished. But now that the Committee has been formed and the work has begun, it is obvious that deadline is not going to be met.

As the Committee continues to meet and research various options for the County, Tilley says this Board has exceeded her expectations and she feels it is evident they are committed to giving residents of DeWitt County the best option for ambulance service.
