Hornets Land Top Pick In Draft Lottery; Expected To Take UK's Davis

The New Orleans Hornets captured the first-overall pick in next month's NBA Draft by winning the draft lottery Wednesday night.  The Hornets were awarded the top selection after finishing with a Western Conference-worst mark of 21-and-45 last season.  The Hornets, who had only a 13.7-percent chance of getting the top pick, will likely select Kentucky big man Anthony Davis.

Meanwhile, despite posting the worst single-season winning percentage in NBA history, the Charlotte Bobcats will pick second.  Charlotte had a 25-percent chance of landing the top pick.  The 'Cats were just 7-and-59, good for a .106 winning percentage.  The Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings round out the top-five.
