Clinton High School Renovations Well Underway; Some Projects Under Gun

Remodeling of several key areas in Clinton High School is well underway and making great progress.

As you make your way past the high school you probably have noticed the work being done on the roof, however, a lot of work is underway inside the building. Superintendent of Clinton Schools Dr. Jeff Holmes says the main commons area and restrooms are being worked on currently, and in fact, so much progress has been made, the restrooms are just bare rooms as everything has been removed.

The gym is also receiving some attention this summer. As crews work to get air conditioning put into the gym, they are up against the clock. Replacement the gym floor requires eight weeks work to complete. Dr. Holmes says that eight week timeline puts them up against the annual Clinton Volleyball Tournament held at the high school each year. He says if the A/C is not installed very soon, the gym floor replacement may have to wait until next summer.

Renovations and upgrades are also taking place in the high school's library. Dr. Holmes feels the upgrades to the library's will allow students to maximize the use of their iPads, when they get them. Additions to the library will include new lighting and more comfortable seating.

Work on the roof is being considered Health, Life & Safety upgrades. The work should be nearly wrapped up this week, as just some final touch ups on it will have to be taken care of later. Dr. Holmes says with the work on the high school roof, all the roofs of the district are now in 'great shape'.
