Celebrate Clinton Hosting 4th Of July Activities on Downtown Square

The Celebrate Clinton Association is putting on a number of 4th of July activities.

The day starts out with a free breakfast served by the Clinton Fire Department and Police Department at 8 am. Sissy Leggett is the chair of the Celebrate Clinton Association, she notes a kids playtime will follow and a bike decorating contest will take place after that.

This year's festivities include the always-popular dunk tank, which will be set up for takers around 11 am.  Leggett notes other attractions on the square this year will include an old style photo booth, face painting, and a balloon hat maker.

Activities will occupy the square all the way to 6 pm. Leggett says a pie eating contest will take place on the square at 1 pm and at 4 pm a special concert by the remaining members of the popular group, The Havana Ducks.

Leggett hopes the heat does not hinder those wishing to make an appearance at the activities. She says they plan to have pleny of tents to get out of the sun and lots of stations with water. Various groups and vendors will be downtown as well with lots of food and beverages.
