Illinois educators and officials are looking for ways to boost the state's college graduation rate.
The goal is to get to the point where 60% of adults in Illinois have some sort of college degree or career certificate by 2025. Right now the figure is about 41%.
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission is promoting the goal under the label "College Changes Everything." The commission is organizing a conference Thursday in Tinley Park for college administrators, high school leaders, counselors and state officials.
They're studying how to prepare students for college and keep them once they enrolled.
