Clinton Fire Department Wants To Bid On Ambulance Service

The Clinton Fire Department may be putting in a bid for providing DeWitt County with ambulance services.

Clinton Fire Chief Shawn Milton approached the Clinton City Council Monday evening about gathering numbers to put a bid forward to acquire the service.

Mayor Carolyn Peters asked Chief Milton to have that put on the agenda for their August 6 meeting, at which point the Council would have to approve it.

A quick meeting also included several other items:

>> Mike Mannix and Phil Vinson were appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals.

>> As another heat wave approaches the area, Clinton and DeWitt County will have two primary cooling centers during the day. The DeWitt County Friendship Center will be available for folks between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm Monday through Friday. And the Warner Public Library will be open 9 am to 9 pm Monday through Thursday and Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
