Grass Fire In Rural Clinton Causes Minor Damage

width=At approximately 10:10 am Wednesday morning, the Clinton Fire Department was called out to a grass fire at 5101 Brittany Lane in rural Clinton.

Clinton Fire Chief Shawn Milton explains, upon the arrival of his crews, the fire had spread to surrounding properties, and had begun to melt the siding on one of the homes. Chief Milton notes the cause of the fire was trash being burned.

The city of Clinton was already under a burn ban, and it was announced Thursday morning, the entire Clinton Fire District is under a burn ban. Chief Milton says under these conditions it does not take a lot for something small to spread very quickly, as evidenced Wednesday.
