NCAA Lays Down Hammer On Penn State

>>NCAA Levies Penalties Against Penn State

(Indianapolis, IN)  --  The NCAA came down hard on Penn State in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.  A four-year postseason ban, five years probation and a vacation of all wins dating to 1998 were among the significant penalties.  Penn State also must reduce 10 initial and 20 total scholarships each year for a four-year period.  The school was also hit with a $60-million fine.

>>Paterno No Longer Winningest Football Coach

(State College, PA)  --  The late Joe Paterno is no longer the winningest football coach in NCAA FBS history.  The former Penn State coach had 111 victories stripped from his record, dating back to 1998 due to NCAA sanctions over the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal.
