Quinn Wants Pension Reform In August

Governor Pat Quinn says he wants the Illinois House to take up pension reforms when they return to Springfield in August.  The House is going to convene August 17th and will decide the fate of indicted Representative Derrick Smith.  Quinn says they should also take up pension reform.

Quinn says getting pension reform done will help the state's economy and help its bond rating. He believes they can reach a bipartisan compromise for pension reform.  Lawmakers have been studying how pensions would impact school districts.  Quinn believes that individual units of government should be responsible for retirement funding.
