>>Maholm, Cubs Cruise Over Pirates

(Pittsburgh, PA)  --  Alfonso Soriano smacked a two-run homer to back eight stellar innings from Paul Maholm as the Cubs cruised to a 5-1 win over the Pirates.  Maholm struck out seven and allowed just one run on four hits to improve to 9-and-6 on the season.  Starlin Castro added a solo homer and David DeJesus had a two-run double for Chicago, which has won back-to-back games on the heels of a three-game slide.  Garrett Jones' solo homer in the fifth frame accounted for Pittsburgh's lone run of the game.  James McDonald gave up all five runs in six innings of duty to suffer the loss.  The Pirates have lost two in-a-row after winning five straight.

>>Cards Crush Dodgers

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Allen Craig's two-run double capped off a six-run sixth inning as the Cardinals crushed the Dodgers, 8-2.  Rafael Furcal went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored, while Adam Wainwright plated two runs and scored twice for the Cards, who have won four of their last five games.  On the mound, Wainwright struck out seven over seven-and-a-third innings of two-run ball as he improved to 8-and-10.  Juan Rivera and Luis Cruz both drove in a run for LA, which had its five-game winning streak snapped.  Clayton Kershaw was rocked for eight runs in five-and-two-thirds as he fell to 7-and-6.

>>White Sox Storm Past Twins

(Chicago, IL)  --  Adam Dunn went 3-for-4 with a homer, three runs and four RBI as the White Sox scored nine unanswered runs to rally for an 11-4 win over the Twins.  Alexei Ramirez clubbed a two-run homer and Paul Konerko added a solo shot for Chicago, which will try to sweep the three-game set Wednesday.  Nate Jones picked up the win in relief.  Josh Willingham homered twice and knocked in three for Minnesota.  Casey Fien allowed two runs and three hits without recording an out to take the loss.
