width=The Farmer City Fair named a Blue Ridge Alum as pageant queen.

Danielle Burge won the Fair Queen title. She will have a lot of duties throughout the next year, including a state pageant next January. During this past week's Farmer City 4-H Fair, she tried to be present at as many events as possible.

Burge says the pageant judges tested her on how well she could handle pressure. She adds there were a lot of questions she was asked that she didn't know much about, but she was honest with the judges and gave the best answer she could.

Cut2: Queen2    :30    cue: best bet.

The soon to be Illinois State University student feels there's more that goes into pagents than people think. Burge says she attended sessions to help with poise and posture. She also had to prepare a speech, find a sponsor, and go through interviews to prepare for the pageant.

Cut3:Queen3    :19    cue: things like that.

Burge encourages all girls to participate in a pageant at some time in her life. She says she gained a lot of confidence in the two-month process.

Zoey McCartney was named the junior queen pageant.
