Illinois lawmakers are planning to head back to Springfield next month in hopes of getting pension reform finalized. Governor Pat Quinn announced the August 17th special session yesterday, saying pension reform is the biggest challenge facing the state.

The governor believes the special session won't take long, saying pension reform should be done in one day. Senate President John Cullerton wants Quinn to rescind the order to keep taxpayers from footing the more than 40-thousand-dollar a day bill.
