(Undated)  --  "USA Today" reports the Chicago Cubs have agreed to trade catcher Geovany Soto to the Texas Rangers.  According to the report, the Cubs will receive pitching prospect Jacob Brigham in return.  Soto hit .199 with six homers and 14 RBI in 52 games with the Cubs this season.  Soto was an All-Star and named Rookie of the Year in 2008.

(Chicago, IL)  --  The Chicago Cubs have traded pitcher Paul Maholm and outfielder Reed Johnson to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for pitchers Arodys Vizcaino and Jaye Chapman.  Dating back to June 29th, Maholm is 5-and-0 with a 1.02 ERA.  For the season, Maholm is 9-and-6 with a 3.76 ERA.  Johnson is hitting .302 with three homers and 16 RBI this year.

>>Bucs Get Snider From Jays

(Chicago, IL)  --  The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired outfielder Travis Snider from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for pitcher Brad Lincoln.  Snider hit .235 with three homers and eight RBI in nine games with the Blue Jays this season.  He hit .335 with 13 home runs and 57 RBI in 61 games in Triple-A this year.  Lincoln went 4-and-2 with a 2.73 ERA in 28 games with the Bucs.
