Bears Crush Colts; Rams Fall In Detroit; Pack Stunned At Home

(Chicago, IL)  --  Jay Cutler threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bears to a 41-21 season-opening win over Andrew Luck and the Colts.  Brandon Marshall had 119 yards and a score in his Bears' debut, while Alshon Jeffrey finished with three catches for 80 yards and a touchdown in the win at Soldier Field.  Matt Forte [[ for-TAY ]] added 80 yards and a TD on the ground, and Michael Bush found the end zone twice.  Luck finished 23-of-45 for 309 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions in his NFL debut.  The top overall draft pick out of Stanford recorded the first passing touchdown of his career in the fourth quarter on a four-yard toss to Donnie Avery.  Donald Brown had a 14-yard rushing score and Jerrell Freeman added a three-yard, pick-six for Indianapolis.

(Detroit, MI)  --  Kevin Smith hauled in a five-yard touchdown from Matthew Stafford with ten seconds left in the game as the Lions walked away with a 27-23 season-opening win over the Rams.  Smith also had a five-yard rushing score in the fourth quarter for Detroit.  He finished with 62 yards on the ground and 29 through the air.  Stafford went 32-of-48 with 355 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions for the Lions.  Calvin Johnson hauled in six catches for 111 yards in the win.  Cortland Finnegan took a 31-yard interception to the house and Sam Bradford added a 23-yard TD toss to Brandon Gibson for St. Louis.  Bradford finished 17-of-25 for 198 yards with a touchdown in defeat.

(Green Bay, WI)  --  Alex Smith threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns as the 49ers knocked off the Packers, 30-22.  Frank Gore rumbled for 112 yards and a score, and Randy Moss and Vernon Davis each had touchdown grabs for San Francisco.  David Akers tied an NFL record with a 63-yard field goal in the victory at Lambeau Field.  Aaron Rodgers passed for 303 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for Green Bay, which had won 13 straight regular season games at home.  James Jones and Jermichael Finley had touchdown catches in the loss.
