Illini Look To Forget, Improve Saturday

A week after a 45-14 blowout loss at Arizona State, Illinois could get a breather Saturday against Charleston Southern.

Don't expect the Illini (1-1) to try to build an early cushion and coast. Coach Tim Beckman says his team isn't good enough to count on a big lead that would allow it to take it easy on a Football Championship Subdivision team like the Buccaneers (0-2).

Illinois cornerback Justin Green says the Illini have to forget last week's loss. The defense was often confused and gave up four first-half touchdowns.

Buccaneer coach Jay Mills says his team should expect a big, physical opponent in its first-ever Big Ten game.

Injured Illinois quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase (SHEEL'-hows) expects to play after missing the ASU game with an ankle injury.
