Cards Double Up Cubs; Sox Swept, Lead at 1

(Chicago, IL)  --  Allen Craig went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI to back six strong frames from Kyle Lohse as the Cardinals doubled up the Cubs, 6-3.  Lohse fanned five and allowed three runs on five hits to improve to 16-and-3 on the season.  Jason Motte closed it out to nail down his 40th save for St. Louis, which has won six of its last seven games.  Pete Kozma homered and added a sac-fly in the win.  Alfonso Soriano popped a solo homer and Wellington Castillo added an RBI double for Chicago.  Justin Germano gave up four runs in five-and-two-third frames to absorb the loss.

(Anaheim, CA)  --  The Angels finished off a three-game sweep the White Sox with a 4-1 win behind a 3-for-4, two-RBI afternoon from Albert Pujols.  Kendry Morales hit his 22nd home run of the season, while Jered Weaver improved to 19-and-4 after dealing six-and-one-third innings of one-run ball with four strikeouts.  Los Angeles is only two-and-a-half games behind the A's for the second Wild Card spot in the AL.  Dayan Viciedo plated the only run for Chicago.  Gavin Floyd took the loss.  The White Sox are a game ahead of the Tigers for first place in the AL Central.
